In many cases, refurbishing an existing turbine can drastically improve power production and is a cost-effective and practical approach to improving overall plant performance. CHC has worked on a number of refurbishment projects where disassembly, inspection and repair/refurbishment of existing turbines and components was a worthwhile approach for boosting performance and providing a new life to the existing equipment at a fraction of the cost of equipment replacement options.
